In response to last year’s success, this dynamic language policy conference brought to you by UHI Millennium Institute’s Centre for Nordic Studies will take place in conjunction with Nòs Ur, the minority languages Song Contest, again this year. Be sure to sign up early!
Conference themes include:
The political aspects of minority language policy
Comparative case studies of minority languages including Gaelic and Cornish
Minority languages and language planning issues
The need for recognition and funding for minority languages in public life
There will also be an open discussion forum which will contribute to policy making– and plenty of time to network over the free buffet lunch!
